Real name Ian Jordan, Majistrate is a British drum'n'bass DJ and producer from Kent. A DJ since 1989, he turned to record production in 1994 to become one of the biggest names in jungle and drum'n'bass. One of his first singles, "Open Circuit", released on Splash Recordings, established his reputation before a succession of tracks recorded for various labels, including Low Down Deep Recordings, and collaborations. Host for a time of radio station Kool FM, member of supergroup Problem Central alongside Logan D, Eksman and Evil B, creator of label, East Side Records and remixer, Majistrate has released numerous singles and EPs The Evidence (2014), Amsterdam (2015), The Truth Hurts (2015), Twenty Plus Part 1 & 2 (2016), Pressure (2017) and Twenty Plus Part 3 (2017). In 2026, he delivers an updated version of the track "Step Up", charting in singles sales and downloads.
