Known as Sub Zero, Jake Carter is a British drum and bass DJ and producer from Leicester. He first came to prominence as part of the G-Dub (Generation Dub) duo, which he formed with producer Original Sin. This project helped define the jump-up style of the late 2000s. From 2009 onwards, he embarked on a solo career under the name Sub Zero, quickly building a reputation for percussive, dancefloor drum and bass. His productions are renowned for their powerful bass lines, incisive drum rhythms and raw energy that resonates in club sound systems. In addition to his studio work, Sub Zero has toured internationally, performing at clubs and festivals around the world, a presence that has helped establish his status as a key figure in modern drum and bass. Among his extensive output and numerous collaborations are the EPs Under Pressure (2014), The Vibrations (2017) and Pulse (2025). In 2025, his single "Side Quest" reached No. 33 in the UK Singles Chart.
