Cody Jay Canada, born May 25, 1976, in Pampa, Texas, is an American musician known for his roles as a singer and guitarist. He formed Cross Canadian Ragweed in 1994, releasing seven studio albums before the band's hiatus in 2010. In 2011, Canada founded Cody Canada & the Departed, later known as The Departed, debuting with This Is Indian Land. Their album Hippielovepunk reached number 9 on the Billboard US Country chart in 2015. Canada also released solo works, including Some Old, Some New, Maybe a Cover or Two and Chip & Ray, Together Again for the First Time with Mike McClure. In 2023, he received the Trailblazer Award from the Texas Country Music Association.
