The Carmina Quartet, founded in Switzerland in 1984, comprised Matthias Enderle and Susanne Frank (violins), Wendy Champney (viola), and Stephan Goerner (cello). The ensemble worked with notable musicians including Sándor Végh, members of the Amadeus Quartet and LaSalle Quartet, and Nikolaus Harnoncourt. Early in their career, they performed widely across Europe and internationally, appearing in major cultural centers such as Stuttgart, Berlin, Vienna, London, Paris, Rome, New York, Buenos Aires, Tel Aviv, Hong Kong, and Tokyo. Their repertoire spans core classical works from Joseph Haydn and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart to contemporary compositions. Their recordings have received major honors, including the Gramophone Award, Diapason d’or, and Grammy Awards.
