Ensemble Baroque de Nice, a French baroque music ensemble founded in 1982 and based in Nice, was led by violinist Gilbert Bezzina. The group, supported by the Conseil Général des Alpes-Maritimes, Conseil Régional Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, and the Ville de Nice, comprised a core of about a dozen musicians playing on period instruments. Their repertoire focused on rediscovering overlooked baroque masterpieces, with a particular emphasis on world premieres or revivals of operas and vocal works by composers such as Antonio Vivaldi, George Friedrich Handel, and Alessandro Scarlatti. Notable releases include Antonio Vivaldi, La Silvia, Dramma pastorale, Milan 1721 (2000), La Cetra (2002), and Vivaldi: La Dorilla in Tempe, Opéra En 3 Actes (2010). The ensemble's recordings garnered critical acclaim, earning distinctions such as the Diapason d’Or and Grand Prix de l’Académie du Disque.
