Born on January 15, 1956, in Pueblo Andino, Santa Fe, Jorge Fandermole, one of Argentina’s most influential singer-songwriters, began his career in the early 1980s as part of the Trova rosarina movement before establishing himself as a solo artist. With a style that blends folklore, poetry, and contemporary influences, he released his debut album Pájaros de fin de invierno in 1983, followed by Tierra, sangre y agua (1985) and Mitologías (1992), solidifying his reputation as a key figure in Argentine popular music. His compositions, including the widely acclaimed “Oración del Remanso” and “Canción del Pinar,” have been recorded by renowned artists like Mercedes Sosa and Liliana Herrero. Over the years, he has collaborated with musicians such as Adrián Abonizio, Rubén Goldín, and Carlos Aguirre, and has also played a significant role in music education, co-founding the Escuela de Músicos de Rosario. His later albums Navega (2002) and Pequeños mundos (2005) earned Gardel Award nominations, while Fander (2014) won Best Alternative Folk Album. His lasting impact on Argentine folklore was recognized with multiple Konex Awards, including the Platinum Award in 2015.
