Riff is an American R&B and soul a cappella group from Paterson, New Jersey. They gained early recognition for their appearance in the 1989 biographical drama film Lean on Me, performing as the 'Songbirds' in the bathroom scene. Their initial breakthrough came with the release of their self-titled debut album Riff in 1991 under SBK Records, which peaked at number 177 on the US Billboard 200 and number 41 on the US R&B chart. The group's second album, To Whom it May Concern, was released in 1993 under ERG Records. Throughout their career, Riff experienced lineup changes, with members Anthony Fuller, Dwayne Jones, and Michael Best briefly joining Men of Vizion before returning to reform the group with new members Steven Capers, Delvis Damon André Lamar. The group has continued performing and releasing music, including the singles "White Men Can't Jump" (1992), "Baby It's Yours" (1994), and "Perfect 10" (2015). Notable former member Kenny "Damn" Kelly passed away on July 31, 2016. Despite these changes, Riff maintained a dedicated fan base and continued to put out singles, with "On This Day"coming out in 2021.
