Roy Michael Reymound, known professionally as Fresku, was born on October 26, 1986, in Eindhoven, Netherlands, and is a Dutch rapper, actor, and comedian. He began rapping at age fourteen, adopting the stage name "Fresku," which translates to 'cheeky' in Papiamento. Initially writing in English, he transitioned to Dutch after being inspired by the group Opgezwolle. In 2008, Fresku collaborated with producer Teemong on the short film De Oude Bok, introducing his popular character Gino Pietermaai. His breakthrough came with "Brief aan Kees" in late 2008, which impressed record label owner Kees de Koning. In 2009, Fresku released "Twijfel," addressing his doubts about fame and identity. He was signed by TopNotch Records shortly after and won Rookie of the Year at the State Awards 2009. His debut album Fresku was released in 2010, followed by Maskerade (2012), In de Lucht (2021), and Leren Leven (2024).
