Mizar, a rock band from Skopje, then part of SFR Yugoslavia, was formed in the early 1980s. Their breakthrough came with their self-titled debut album, released in 1988, which was notable for being one of the first major Macedonian-language rock albums. Throughout their career, Mizar underwent several lineup changes, known as "Revelations." Their second album, Svjat Dreams, was released in 1991, after which the band split. In 2001, a tribute album, named Tribute to Mizar was released, including cover versions of the group's songs by notable Macedonian groups like Syniac and Majakovski. Mizar reunited in 2003, releasing "Gun Salute" and playing at the Exit festival in Novi Sad.
