Flor-de-Lis, a Portuguese folk music group formed in 2004, emerged from Pedro Marques' involvement with the "Adufe" project, which showcased traditional Portuguese instruments. The band's initial lineup included Pedro Marques on percussion and Paulo Pereira on wind instruments. Flor-de-Lis gained significant attention when they won the 45th edition of Festival da Canção in 2009 with "Todas as ruas do amor", earning them the right to represent Portugal at the Eurovision Song Contest that year. They qualified for the final, finishing 15th overall. The group's repertoire blends original lyrics by Pedro Marques and Daniela Varela with poems from notable Portuguese authors, creating a fusion of traditional Portuguese music and global influences. Their first studio album, Signo solar, was released in 2010. In 2020, Flor-de-Lis returned to the studio to produce new songs, maintaining their core elements while evolving their sound.
