Santelmo was a Spanish heavy metal band formed in 2008 by guitarist Jero Ramiro and originated from Madrid. The group's name was derived from Ramiro's past work with Saratoga and Santa, where he composed "San Telmo 1940". The initial lineup included Manuel Escudero on vocals, Luisma Hernández on bass, Jero Ramiro on guitar, Jaime Olivares on drums, and José Manuel Paz on keyboards. Their debut album, Santelmo, was released in 2009. In November 2010, Escudero left the band, replaced by Ronald Romero, though he also departed in April 2011, succeeded by Nacho Ruiz. Subsequent albums include El alma del verdugo (2012) and Mamífero (2014). In 2014, Ramiro left Santelmo to return to Saratoga, and Fran Soler joined as the new guitarist. Despite these changes, the band announced its dissolution in early 2016.
