Louiselle was an Italian singer who was born as Maria Luisa Catricalà in Vibo Valentia, Italy, in 1946. She achieved early professional recognition after winning the Il microfono d'oro contest and is famous for the hit single “Andiamo a Mietere il Grano” (1965), which reached significant popularity during the Un disco per l'estate competition. Her discography includes the eponymous studio album Louiselle (1968) and the recordings 40 minuti d'amore (1973) and Spaghetti Country (1992). Louiselle is also noted for the single “Ascoltami” (1965), which was covered by the singer Dalida, and for participating in the Festival of Naples (1970). She released the compilation Il meglio di Louiselle (1996) featuring updated versions of her early hits. Louiselle died in 2024.
