Mayako Soné, born on November 11, 1964 in Tokyo, Japan, is a harpsichordist. She began studying piano and violin at age five and later entered the Tōhō Gakuen School of Music in Tokyo to study harpsichord at sixteen. Soné's breakthrough came when she won the Concours International de Clavecin de Bruges in 1986. Following this, she continued her training under Scott Ross, Kenneth Gilbert, and Gustav Leonhardt in France and Italy. In 1990, she was invited to become a harpsichordist with the Israel Chamber Orchestra. Soné recorded her album Scarlatti: unpublished sonatas in 1993. She became a professor at the Tōhō Gakuen University of Music in 2009.
