David Gazarov is a German jazz pianist and composer of Armenian origin born on May 19, 1965, in Baku. He established a classical foundation at age four and later studied under Elmira Nəzirova, a student of Dmitri Shostakovich. In 1989, Gazarov migrated to Moscow to study jazz at the Gnessin-Musikinstitut. He performed at jazz festivals in cities including St. Petersburg, Eriwan, and Moscow between 1985 and 1989. After relocating to Munich in 1991, Gazarov performed as a bar pianist at the Bayerischer Hof. His recording career includes the albums Stayer (1991), Jazz Time (1992), Blue Rondo (1997), and Autumnal Giant Steps (2008). He also recorded the album Chopin Lounge (2010) with the Klazz Brothers. Gazarov received the State Prize for Young Artists of Bavaria in 1999 and has collaborated with groups such as the Anima Trio and the Buddy De Franco Sextet.
