Insanity Wave, a Spanish alternative rock band from Madrid, was formed in 1991. Their initial sound blended melodious noise with guitar-driven pop and psychedelic undertones. The group signed their first record deal with La Fábrica Magnética de Servando Carballar in the early 1990s, releasing their self-titled EP Insanity Wave in 1993 and the album Go-Off in 1995. They gained international recognition with their second LP, Do the Worm, recorded in Chicago and released in 1997. The album 3x33 is a double compilation that was released in 1999. The band's music was featured in various films, including La Mujer Más Fea del Mundo and Siete Cafés por Semana. Insanity Wave continued to tour extensively, performing at notable festivals such as the Festival Internacional de Benicàssim (FIB) in 2000 and the International Pop Overthrow Festival in Liverpool in 2006. Their third album, The Minor League, was produced by Mitch Easter and released in 2000. Late Night Shift was released in 2008, featuring collaborations with Peter Holsapple and Morgan Kraft.
