Joaquín Clerch, born on August 8, 1965, in Havana, Cuba, is a classical guitarist and composer. He studied guitar under Leopoldina Núñez before moving to the Escuela Nacional de Arte and later the Instituto Superior de Arte. In 1990, Clerch traveled to Salzburg with a Mozarteum scholarship. He has performed internationally in cities such as Paris, Tokyo, Munich, and Havana, collaborating with orchestras like the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Cuban National Symphony Orchestra. He recorded two dedicated concerts: Concierto para guitarra y orquesta (1996) by Carlos Fariñas and Concierto de La Habana (1998) by Leo Brouwer. Clerch notably received an Echo Klassik in 2009 for his album Classica Cubana.
