Diffuser, a rock band from Long Island, New York, was formed in 1994 by Tomas Costanza (guitar/vocals), Anthony Cangelosi (guitar), Lawrence Sullivan (bass), and Billy Alemaghides (drums). Initially known as Flu Thirteen, they released their first album, Spincycle, before signing with The Medicine Label. After changing their name to Diffuser in 2001, the band signed with Hollywood Records and released their debut album, Injury Loves Melody. Their single "Karma" was featured on the soundtrack for Mission: Impossible 2, peaking at number 20 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. In 2003, Sullivan and Alemaghides left the band, and Diffuser released their second album, Making the Grade, with new members Peter Schojan (bass) and Dan Leo (drums). The band toured extensively from 2003 to 2004 before disbanding after being dropped by Hollywood Records. In 2008, Diffuser reunited to release Sincerely, Wasting Away.
