Doris Jean Harrell, born 19 June 1945 in Birmingham, Alabama, was an American soul singer who performed under the name Dee Edwards. Her early career began with singles released in the early 1960s, including "Oh What A Party" (1964), which established her presence on the R&B charts. In 1979 she released the album Heavy Love, featuring the dance hit "Don't Sit Down" that entered the Billboard dance charts, followed by the album Two Hearts Are Better Than One (1980). Edwards continued to record into the 1980s, issuing singles such as "All We Need Is A Miracle" (1972) and "I Can Deal With That" (1977). Her collaborations with arranger Floyd Jones produced the 1970 single "Say It Again With Feeling" and later tracks for the De-To label. Dee Edwards passed away on 25 January 2006 in Detroit, Michigan.
