Sven Kacirek, born in 1975 in Hamburg, Germany, is a drummer, producer, author, and lecturer. He began his musical journey studying under Jost Nickel at the Yamaha Music Station in Hamburg, followed by further training with Kim Plainfield at the Drummers Collective in New York City, René Créemers and Joop van Erven in Arnheim, and Udo Dahmen at the Hamburg University of Music. Kacirek's early career included performances at the World Drum Festival in 1999 and 2000. He released his first solo album, The Palmin Sessions, in 2007 under Pingipung. Kacirek's subsequent albums include The Kenya Sessions (2011), Scarlet Pitch Dreams (2012), and The Nutcracker Sessions (2014). He has also authored books such as Drum'n bass-Creative Concepts For Drummers (2000) and Secret Drum Grooves (2004).
