Deitsch is a German folk band formed around the core duo of Gudrun Walther and Jürgen Treyz. The pair, who hail from Baden-Württemberg, are known for their performances of traditional German songs, ballads, and dances, often incorporating elements of international folklore. Their repertoire primarily consists of original texts presented in High German to preserve authenticity. Deitsch released their debut album Königskinder in 2005 on Artes records, followed by Heimat (2009) and a live recording titled Live in Rudolstadt 2009. Their fourth album, Mittsommer Sessions, was released in 2019 under the label Artes records/Galileo. The band's performances often feature a rotating lineup of additional musicians to enhance their live sound, including Johannes "Philipp" Uhlmann on accordion and Henrik Mumm on bass and cello.
