Peppino D'Agostino, born in 1956 in Messina, Sicily, Italy, is an Italian guitarist and composer. In the 1980s, D'Agostino emerged as a prominent figure among fingerstyle guitarists. His career includes collaborations with musicians such as David Tanenbaum, Jeff Campitelli, Carlos Reyes, Tommy Emmanuel, Leo Kottke, Laurindo Almeida, Larry Carlton, Eric Johnson, and Martin Taylor. He formed the group Bluerba with Alfredo Morabito and Enzo Ponzio. D'Agostino composed "Stammi Vicino" for guitarist Stef Burns and singer Vasco Rossi, which topped the iTunes Rock Charts in Italy. Notable albums include Bluerba (1981), Acoustic Spirit (1987), Sparks (1988), Close to the Heart (1993), and Every Step of the Way (2002). In 2007, D'Agostino was named best acoustic guitarist, winning the Guitar Player Readers' Choice Award.
