Claire Désert (b. 1967) was unanimously awarded first prize for piano at the Paris Conservatoire and first prize for chamber music, and quickly made a name for herself at major festivals. A member of the Quatuor Kandinsky, she performs on stage and on disc with Régis Pasquier, the Quatuor Parisii, Emmanuel Strosser, with whom she recorded Dvorak's Danses slaves (2007), and violinist Anne Gastinel for a program devoted to Franck, Debussy and Poulenc (2011). Claire Désert's discography, awarded a Victoire de la musique classique in 1997, includes the Abendmusik recital devoted to Robert and Clara Schumann (2009) and L'Enfance, where she reunites with Emmanuel Strosser for a four-hand program devoted to Fauré, Bizet, Debussy and Ravel (2013).
