Sikkil Mala Chandrasekhar, born on August 23, 1963, in India, is a prominent Carnatic flutist. She began her musical journey at age five under the tutelage of her mother, Smt. Sikkil Neela and Aunt Smt. Sikkil Kunjumani. Chandrasekhar's breakthrough came with her arangetram at Sri Mani Swamigal's house in Mylapore, followed by performances on All India Radio and Doordarshan. Her debut concert at Krishna Gana Sabha in 1980 marked the start of her professional career. Chandrasekhar has collaborated extensively with notable musicians such as Lalgudi Vijayalakshmi and Veenai Jayanthi. She received numerous awards, including the "Shanmukha Sangeetha Shiromani" from Bombay Shanmukhananda Sangeetha Sabha in 2006 and the "Venugaana Sironmani" title at Dubai Thamizh Family in 2003. Chandrasekhar's contributions to Carnatic music have been widely recognized, solidifying her status as a distinguished flutist.
