Michi Gaigg, born Michaela Gaigg on April 22, 1957, in Schörfling am Attersee, Austria, is a violinist and conductor specializing in Baroque and classical music. Influenced by Nikolaus Harnoncourt during her studies at the Mozarteum University of Salzburg, she further honed her skills under Ingrid Seifert and Sigiswald Kuijken. Gaigg founded L'Arpa Festante in Munich in 1983, leading it until 1995, and later established the L'Orfeo Baroque Orchestra in Austria with Carin van Heerden in 1996. Notable recordings include Mysliveček: Symphonies & 5 Overtures (2004) and Gluck: 5 Symphonies (2011). Gaigg has collaborated with prominent figures such as Frans Brüggen, Christopher Hogwood, René Jacobs, and Hermann Max. She taught early music and historical performance practice at the Anton Bruckner Private University from 1994 to 2017.
