Tsar, an American rock band from Los Angeles, California, formed in 1998. After a residency at Silver Lake's Spaceland club, Tsar released their self-titled debut album on Hollywood Records in 2000. The album received critical acclaim but had limited commercial success. Notable songs include "I Don't Wanna Break Up" and "Silver Shifter". Tsar's music was featured in various TV shows, including Veronica Mars and NCIS. Their follow-up album, Band-Girls-Money (2005), was released on TVT Records after leaving Hollywood Records. The band performed on several late-night shows, including The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn, and toured with notable acts such as the New York Dolls and Social Distortion. In 2010, Tsar's original lineup reunited and released The Dark Stuff EP.
