Hertha Klust, born on July 2, 1903, in Berlin, Germany, was a pianist known for her contributions to classical music. Initially trained as a mezzo-soprano singer, Klust began working as a répétiteur at the Deutsche Oper Berlin in 1949 despite increasing hearing loss. She gained prominence as an accompanist, collaborating with notable singers such as Ernst Haefliger and Josef Greindl. Her most significant partnership was with Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau; their first joint concert took place in July 1948 at the Titania-Palast in Berlin, featuring Franz Schubert's "Die schöne Müllerin". Throughout the 1950s, Klust released several albums, including Winterreise Op. 89 and Vier Ernste Gesänge Op.121. In 1954, she received the Berliner Kunstpreis for her contributions to music. Hertha Klust passed away on February 23, 1970.
