Bamdamel, originally known as Banda Mel until 1994, is a Brazilian axé band from Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. Formed in 1984 as a Carnival block, they underwent several lineup changes. Their debut album Força Interior was released in 1987, followed by Prefixo de Verão (1990). Notable songs include "Protesto do Olodum (E Lá Vou Eu)", "A Flor do Olodum", and "Baianidade Nagô". In 1993, Patrícia Alvaia joined the group and performed at the Mineirão stadium in Belo Horizonte before leaving to join Cheiro de Amor. The band released the albums Negra (1991), Mel (1992), Mãe Preta (1993), and O Pulo da Gata (1994). Their live albums, including Ao Vivo I (1998) and Ao Vivo III: Nossa História (2002), showcased their performances. The group released the album Ao Vivo IV: Made in Brazil (2006) and the live album 40 Anos Ao Vivo (2024).
