Hailing from the Great Ocean Road, The Burbs spawned in 2016 when members crossed paths in the tight-knit Surf Coast/Geelong rock scene. They went to every party and played as many gigs as possible over the coming years, including sold out headline shows and a tour up the East Coast of Australia.
Their music is saturated with pop melodies and dark lyrics colliding with the carnage of high voltage guitars and sizzling drum beats, and has been compared to the likes of Primal Scream, Ash, and The Posies. In recent years, the trio reigned in the ambition to be a continual shitshow in an attempt to hone their craft in the studio. “We still want to be a mess, but a mess with a discography” explains vocalist Brook Mckeon.
