Hoyt Stoddard Curtin, born on September 9, 1922, in Downey, California, was an American composer and music producer. He began playing the piano at age five and formed his own orchestra during high school. Curtin's early career included composing for films such as Mesa of Lost Women (1952) and Jail Bait (1954) and working as a musical director for Thrillarama Productions in Houston, Texas. In 1957, he became the primary musical director for Hanna-Barbera, composing theme songs for numerous animated series including The Flintstones, The Jetsons, and Jonny Quest. Curtin's work spanned five decades, resulting in thousands of unique theme songs and musical cues. Curtin passed away on December 3, 2000.
