Protonica, a German progressive psytrance band formed in 2003, consists of Piet Kaempfer and Ralf Dietze from Berlin. The duo's initial breakthrough came with their debut EP Orion Sleepers released on March 30, 2006. Protonica gained significant traction with the release of their first full-length album Search in April 2007, which later topped Juno Records' Top 10 Psy Trance charts in September 2009. The band continued to build their discography with releases such as Upstream Remixes (2008), Form Follows Function (2010), and Symmetry (2019). Protonica has performed at major festivals worldwide, including Universo Paralelo in Brazil and Rainbow Serpent in Australia. Billboard ranked Protonica 8th on their Next Big Sound chart in 2013, highlighting their global demand. The band's music also frequently appeared in Beatport charts.
