Hello Sailor was a New Zealand rock band formed in 1975. Their debut album Hello Sailor (1977) became the first New Zealand-made record to be certified gold. The band disbanded in 1980 but reunited sporadically, releasing additional albums including The Album (1994) and When Your Lights Are Out (2006). In 2011, Hello Sailor was inducted into the APRA NZ Music Hall of Fame. Founding member Dave McArtney died in 2013, and Graham Brazier passed away in 2015 following a heart attack. The band reunited briefly in February 2023 to perform a special memorial concert in Waitara, New Zealand.
