Ron Kuivila is an American sound artist. He studied under Alvin Lucier at Wesleyan University, graduating with a B.A. in Music and Mathematics in 1977, and later received his MFA from Mills College. Kuivila's early work included contributions to the Tellus Audio Cassette Magazine compilations and releases through Sonic Arts and Lovely Music. He has taught Experimental Music, Computers in Music, and Studio Recording at Wesleyan University, where he served as the chair of the music department. He also received a Foundation for Contemporary Arts Grants to Artists Award in 2008.
