Polyphonic Size, a Belgian new wave band, was founded in 1979 in Brussels by Roger-Marc Vande Voorde. Their early releases included the Algorhythmic EP and Pragmatic Songs in 1979 and 1980, respectively. The single "Nagasaki Mon Amour", produced by Jean-Jacques Burnel of The Stranglers, marked their breakthrough. Polyphonic Size's debut album, Live for Each Moment / Vivre Pour Chaque Instant, was released in 1982, featuring notable tracks like "Winston & Julia" and "Je T'ai Toujours Aimée". The band toured Europe extensively, including a stop at Paris' Les Bains Douches. Their second album, Walking Everywhere, followed in 1984. Despite lineup changes and contractual issues, Polyphonic Size continued to release albums like The Overnight Day in 1988 and The Prime Story compilation in 1991. The band disbanded in November 1991 but reformed in April 2010 for a series of concerts.
