Stephen Black, known professionally as Sweet Baboo, is a Welsh musician. His debut album The Mighty Baboo was released in 2008. His 2011 release I’m A Dancer / Songs About Sleepin' was nominated for the inaugural Welsh Music Prize in 2011. He released several notable singles, including “Let’s Go Swimming Wild” and has performed extensively at major festivals such as Glastonbury, Latitude, and Green Man. He is also known for frequent collaborations with fellow Welsh musicians, including Cate Le Bon and H. Hawkline, as well as contributions to projects with artists like Gruff Rhys and Euros Childs. His later work includes albums such as Ships (2013) and The Boombox Ballads (2015). In 2023, he released The Wreckage on his own label, Amazing Tapes from Canton.
