Amerigo Gazaway was born November 9, 1985 in Nashville, Tennessee. He began his career with Selective Hearing Vol. 1 (2010), which charted on Beatport’s top-selling Chill-Out sales Chart. In 2011, he released Fela Soul, a blend of music from Afrobeat artist Fela Kuti and hip-hop group De La Soul, earning a top five ranking on both NPR and Soul Train’s year-end Best of 2011 list. His subsequent album Bizarre Tribe: A Quest to the Pharcyde mixed music from A Tribe Called Quest and The Pharcyde. In 2014, Gazaway produced Yasiin Gaye, an imaginary collaboration between Yasiin Bey (a.k.a. Mos Def) and Marvin Gaye. Notable achievements include the use of his remix "You Are Undeniable" in an Apple iPad commercial and charting on Billboard's best-selling singles.
