Monica Anghel is a Romanian singer, actress, and television presenter born in Bucharest on June 1, 1971. She began performing as a teenager and gained national recognition after participating in major music competitions in the 1980s and 1990s, including the Bucharest Music Festival in 1986 and Romania’s Golden Stag Festival in 1996. Anghel represented Romania at the Eurovision Song Contest 2002 alongside Marcel Pavel with the song “Tell Me Why,” achieving one of the country’s best results at the time. Her discography includes albums like Dau viața mea pentru o iubire (1995) and Destine (1996). In addition to her music career, she became known for television and comedy collaborations, including work with Divertis, and also provided the voice for one of the muses for the Romanian version of Hercules.
