Mr Velcro Fastener, a Finnish electronic music duo consisting of Tatu Metsätähti and Tatu Peltonen, originated from Turku. The duo met at school and began creating music together in the early 1990s. They established their own studio, Miletos, in 1997 and released their first EP, Wad, on their label Tie Entertainment in 1998. In 1999, German label i220 Music released Mr Velcro Fastener's debut album Lucky Bastards Living Up North. Notable tracks include "Electric Appliances" (released as a single in 2003) and "Who's Gonna Bend", which gained significant play from British DJs like Pete Tong and Dave Clarke. In 2001, they released the album Otherside, which compiled their previous 12" releases.
