Dag Frøland, born on September 16, 1945, in Volda, Norway, was a singer and comedian. He made his radio debut at age seven and released his first record four years later. In 1967, Frøland recorded "Du skal få en dag i mårå," an Alf Prøysen classic, marking the beginning of his music career. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, he was known for his impersonations and variety shows in Oslo. He directed theatre Chat Noir from the early 1970s and began a decade-long run of annual revues there in 1979. In 1987, Frøland withdrew from public life due to stress but returned in 2006 for local shows. He was honoured with The King's Medal of Merit in Gold in 2005, which he declined. Frøland passed away on January 26, 2010, in Oslo.
