Janne Lucas, born Jan Lars Persson on October 3, 1947, in Gothenburg, Sweden, is a Swedish singer and pianist. As a teenager, he formed the pop group Lucas, which gained prominence after winning Sveriges Radio's Pop Band Competition in 1967 with their song "Antisocial Season". The band's breakthrough came later that year with a cover of "Go Now", originally recorded by Bessie Banks, which peaked at number 4 on Tio i Topp. Lucas toured extensively throughout Scandinavia before disbanding in 1969. Following the breakup of Lucas, Persson pursued a solo career under the stage name Janne Lucas. He participated in Melodifestivalen in 1980 with "Växeln hallå" and in 1981 with "Rocky Mountain", finishing second and third respectively. Throughout his career, Janne Lucas has released numerous albums including Ad Lib (1977), Born to Rock (1978), III (1983), and White Christmas (1988).
