Brahms, and Nikolaj Koppel is a Danish pianist and music director who received his training at the Royal Danish Academy of Music. The son of musicians Lone Koppel and John Winther, Koppel began his professional career as a concert pianist in 1998 but took a hiatus from the stage after two years. He returned to a prominent role in the industry in 2005 as the music director for Tivoli. His recorded output includes Brahms: Piano Concerto No. 1 / Variations on a Theme by Haydn (2000), Plays Scarlatti, Chopin, Brahms, Bartók (2006), and Short Stories: Brahms, Debussy, Nielsen (2006). Koppel further contributed to the international music scene as a co-host of the Eurovision Song Contest in 2014.
