Sizer Barker was an indie rock group from Liverpool, England, formed in 2000 by frontman Carl Brown, who had previously played with The Lightning Seeds and Space. The band’s early releases included the single "Day by Day" on Hug Records and the EP Songs from the Parlour on Pre Records, establishing a sound that critics compared to Beck and The Beatles. In 2004 the group signed to Peter Gabriel’s label Pre and released their debut album Hotel Juicy Parlour on 1 November 2004, followed by singles such as "Climb Aboard" and "Transmission Land". The album received praise for its diverse arrangements and was promoted through a BBC Radio 2 live set on 13 January 2005. Sizer Barker’s activity ceased after the 2004–2005 touring cycle.
