The Car Is on Fire was a three-piece pop band from Warsaw, Poland, formed in early 2002. They released their self-titled debut album in 2005, which featured a garage rock-influenced sound. Their second album, Lake & Flames (2006), produced with Leszek Biolik, marked a stylistic shift toward a more eclectic sound and received widespread critical acclaim, earning the Fryderyk Award for Best Alternative Album of 2006. The band toured Europe in 2008, including an appearance at the Glastonbury Festival, and released their third album Ombarrops! in 2009, produced by John McEntire, which was followed by increased international exposure, including releases and touring in Japan. The band officially announced their breakup in August 2013.
