The Band of HM Royal Marines, originating from England, is a military music ensemble integral to the Royal Navy since its formation. The band's history dates back to 1664 when Royal Marine Drummers were first mentioned. By 1767, Royal Marines Divisional Bands were established at key naval bases. The modern era of the Band Service began in the late 19th century with the founding of the Royal Naval School of Music in 1903. During World War II, the band suffered significant losses, with 225 musicians and buglers killed in action. Notable achievements include performing the theme music for Gerry Anderson's TV series Thunderbirds in 1965. They have participated in annual events such as the Royal British Legion's Festival of Remembrance and the Remembrance Day Service at the Cenotaph.
