The Dicks, an American punk rock band from Austin, Texas, formed in 1980. The original lineup included Gary Floyd on vocals, Buxf Parrott on bass, guitar, and vocals, Pat Deason on drums, and Glen Taylor on guitar and bass. They released the debut single "Dicks Hate The Police" (1980). In 1983, Floyd moved to San Francisco, leading to a lineup change that included Tim Carroll on guitar, Sebastian Fuchs on bass and vocals, and Lynn Perko on drums. They released the albums Kill from the Heart (1983) via SST Records and These People (1985) through Alternative Tentacles. The Dicks disbanded in 1986 but reunited in 2004. Following Taylor's death in 1997, they performed with various guitarists including Mark Kenyon, Brian Magee, and Davy Jones. They disbanded in 2016, and Floyd died in 2024.
