James Intveld, born 12 November 1959, in Venlo, is an American rockabilly singer-songwriter, musician, and actor. After moving to California from the Netherlands as a child, he gained recognition as a teenager entering talent contests at the Palomino Club. Intveld established a reputation as a member of The Rockin' Shadows, contributing the song "My Heart Is Achin' For You" to the compilation Art Fein Presents The Best of L.A. Rockabilly (1983). In 1987, Rosie Flores recorded his composition "Crying Over You". Intveld gained international recognition for providing the singing voice for Johnny Depp’s character in the film Cry-Baby (1990). He performed as lead guitarist for The Blasters from 1993 to 1995. Intveld’s solo discography includes the albums Introducing James Intveld (1995), Somewhere Down the Road (2000), and Have Faith (2008). Between 2008 and 2013, he toured with John Fogerty. His career also includes directing the 2005 film Miracle at Sage Creek.
