Niklas Sivelöv is a Swedish concert pianist, composer, and educator born on April 11, 1968, in Skellefteå. He began studying the organ at age six and won prizes as an organist across Scandinavia. At age fourteen, he transitioned to the piano and later attended the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. Sivelöv made his professional soloist debut in 1991 with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic, performing “Bartók's Second Piano Concerto”. His extensive repertoire includes the complete “Das Wohltemperierte Klavier” by Bach. As a soloist, he has collaborated with conductors such as Esa-Pekka Salonen and Leif Segerstam. Sivelöv's discography includes the Schumann Piano Sonatas and Stenhammar: The 2 Concertos for Piano. He was awarded the Diapason d'Or for his recording of the Berwald piano concerto and won the Independent Music Award for best classical album for his Bellman improvisations. Elected to the Steinway Hall of Fame, Sivelöv also serves as a professor at the Royal Academy of Music in Copenhagen. His own compositions include Symphony No. 1 "Nordico".
