November 20th 1998. Just a millisecond before NASA launched the first component of the International Space Station into space, my best friend Amélie Moulin was born. No, she wasn’t born in space, although you might hear some people claiming she was. Actually, 46.75398519493991, 4.847153390693101 are the exact coordinates of her place of birth.
If you ask me, it was a sign that her birth coincided with a historical happening such as the ISS-launch. Or typical and characteristic at the least.
Fact: Amelie’s presence has always set something in motion. Whether it be something small or something great. And that’s why I like my confidant Amélie Moulin so much. Her piano pieces tell you all about those memorable stories that Amélie started.
Another fact: Amélie Moulin loves to count things. Not to be confused with compulsive counting, however. She just has a funny fascination with digits, I think. Playing the piano, to her, is all about bringing digits to life. Not in a mathematical, calculating kind of way though (Amélie doesn’t really like math). It’s much more simple than that. It goes way back to when she was a child, when auntie Valerie taught her to play the piano. Amélie’s thumbs were given the number 1, the index fingers number 2, and so on. Amélie just loves to fall back on the basics in life.
