Francesco Diodati, born in 1983 in Rome, is an Italian jazz guitarist and composer. After an early interest in pop and rock, he turned to jazz at fourteen and pursued a master’s degree in Siena from 2008 to 2010, studying with Kurt Rosenwinkel, Marc Ducret, John Abercrombie, and others. In 2009 he received a scholarship to the New School for Contemporary Music in New York, where he worked with Reggie Workman and Ben Allison. He released Purple Bra in 2010 and Need Something Strong in 2012 on Auand Records, and has led the group Neko, collaborating with Francesco Bigoni, Carlo Conti, Francesco Ponticelli, and Ermanno Baron. Diodati has performed with Enrico Rava’s quartet, Paolo Fresu on Heroes – a Tribute to David Bowie (2021), and has toured extensively with the MyanmarMeetsEurope project, solidifying his presence in both European and Asian jazz circuits.
