Peter Wölpl (born January 21, 1962) is a German fusion jazz guitarist, composer, producer, and educator from Munich. He studied classical guitar from age eight and became a professional musician in 1981. Wölpl performed with the formations of Wolfgang Schmid beginning in 1983 and worked on the television project Super Drumming in 1987. Between 1989 and 2013, Wölpl performed with Billy Cobham. He released his debut album, Mr. Fudge Speaks, in 1989. In 1993, he joined the group Die Dozenten with Christoph Spendel and Michael Sagmeister. Wölpl collaborated as a studio musician and producer for artists including Klaus Lage, Falco, and David Hasselhoff. His discography includes Mr. Wölpl und Dr. Fudge (1991) and 3erGezimmeR (2009). Wölpl composed for film and television and taught at academies including the Popakademie Mannheim.
