High Places is an American band from Brooklyn, New York, formed in 2006 by multi-instrumentalist Rob Barber and vocalist Mary Pearson. Their debut release was the EP High Places (2007), followed by their compilation album 03/07 - 09/07 (2008). Their self-titled debut album High Places (2008) was recorded in their Brooklyn apartment. They gained recognition for performances at notable venues such as the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York City. They toured with prominent acts like Toro Y Moi and Deerhunter, and performed collaboratively with artists such as Lucky Dragons. Their subsequent albums include High Places vs. Mankind (2010) and Original Colors (2011).
